Sign Installation TIPS

Split batten system for mounting signs without ugly screws on the face side of your signage. Internal or external.

 Acrylic Block System

When making 'Ice Signs' we can mount the lettering away from the wall in a special manner using laser cut acrylick blocks or MDF treated cubes. In this manner, when we design the signage we allow a hidden section that can be installed using double sided tape and adhesive which lifts the lettering away from the wall. The visual effects give you very impressive signage.

 

Split Battens

 

We also design and cut battens to suit behind the panel signage and fix onto a wall.

Using a split batten has advantages for fixing particularly heavy signs or panel signage that needs to appear without any face holes or visible fittings.

Split battens can be manufactured from MDF, chipboard, acrylic and other laminates. Outside signs can be fitted using this batten system and we recommend two end fixtures to ensure that wind does not affect your signage.

Dyna Bolts

When using Dyna Bolts or other bolts use a spade drill bit to ensure that the head of the bolt does not protrude above the panel sign and use a splade drill bit that allows you access with a spanner or socket tool to adjust and tighten the bolt.

Nylon Anchors

Only use quality Nylon Anchors, we have discovered that many cheap nylon anchors are available, however, the plastics used in manufacturing may not be UV Rated or suitable for long term use outdoor and in general suitable for sunlight. If the head of the anchor is weakened over a period of time, the installation and maintenance of your signage is at risk.

TIP: When using colored acrylic lettering or a company logo that is multicolored, choose appropriate colored adhesive or clear permanent and outside building grade double sided tape.
Use non acidic adhesives.
